ROOKIES - LEARN TO PLAY ICE HOCKEY
Interested in playing ice hockey…learning to ice skate would be the place to start. We encourage all new skaters to start in Beginning Skate class, once completed the student will move onto Hockey 1 and then onto Rookies. Skating is the core skill in hockey and is emphasized in all our hockey programs. Completing “Beginning Skate” will prepare students for hockey skating and learning to play hockey. Once students have completed “Beginning Skate” there are two options; (1) enroll in Hockey Skating 1 or (2) enroll in our Learn To Play Hockey program ”Rookies” .
ADULT ROOKIES - ADULT LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY PROGRAM
Ages 18+
Interested in learning to play ice hockey? Our “Adult Rookies” class is just for you! Even if you don’t have equipment, we have equipment to borrow. Don’t be afraid, its fun! Contact us for info if you are interested in learning to play hockey!
ICE HOCKEY - LEARN 2 SKATE
Classes are 30-minutes each, 8 classes per session, one class per week, unless otherwise noted. Trained and certified USA Hockey coaches instruct each class. Equipment required: An HECC approved/certified hockey helmet with a full-face mask, skates, shin pads, elbow pads, gloves, and a stick.

Hockey Skating 1
Student must have completed Beginning Skate or equivalent class.
Ages 6-13
Introduces hockey skating fundamentals.

Adult Hockey Skating Class
Ages 14 and over
Designed to teach hockey skating fundamentals to adults. Great for those aspiring to play ice hockey or looking for a new form of exercise.

ROOKIES - LEARN 2 PLAY
Rookies 1 & 2
Student must have completed Beginning Skate or equivalent class.
Ages 6-13
Becoming a San Diego Saints Rookie means you are serious about learning to play hockey. Building on fundamental hockey skating skills, learn how to play the game and participate in Skills Clinics alongside current Saints Youth Hockey Players. All Rookies get unlimited FREE Public Skating while enrolled.
- Day/Time: Rookies 1 Wednesdays & Fridays 5:45 p.m., Rookies 2 Wednesdays 6:15 p.m. & Fridays 5:45 p.m.
- Rookies Session Fee: $160/Members & Guests (2 classes per week)
Adult Skills & Scrimmage
Ages 18 and over
Structured towards the player looking to improve their hockey skills. 75 minutes = 25 minutes of instruction followed by a 50 minute scrimmage.
- Day/Time: Wednesdays 9:45 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
- Fee: $15 / single class OR $65 / five class pass, Goalies FREE
