Fine Arts

The Kroc Center School of the Arts offers a broad variety of programs and classes in the performing and fine arts. Art classes consist of drawing, painting and ceramics. Dance classes feature many genres, from ballet to hip hop, for children and adults of all ages. Music and voice instruction is offered in both group and private lessons. Theatre classes provide instruction on acting, improvisation and auditioning; as well as acting workshops. DANCER AND GYMNAST FUNDAMENTALS
Ages 8-15
Dance movement instruction, toning and conditioning to strengthen dancers and gymnasts. Class will focus on connecting movement phrases to give students the opportunity to perform on stage and show off their various strengths.

DANCE WORKSHOP
Ages 16+
For teens/adults who aren’t faint of heart. Previous dancers who would like an outlet to release their passion for the artistry of dance, come join us. Students will be creating a complete body of work with all forms of dance involved. Fall performance piece will focus on “A Day in Notre Dame”.

MONOLOGUE/AUDITION TUTELAGE
Ages 8-16
Focus on individual development as an actor/actress to enhance performance capabilities.

PLAYWORKS
Ages 13+
Create and perform a One Act Play and get a chance to try your hand at directing.

BEGINNING GUITAR II
Ages 9 - 12
A class for those guitarists who have some expertise but still need the basics and guidance of a great instructor.

PIANO IV (ADVANCED PIANO)
Ages 9 and over
A great class for the piano student needing an extra musical challenge and the accountability of classroom instruction

ECO FREINDLY Ages 6 - 12
A fun class encouraging students to be creative as they work with recycled materials to create wonderful works of art, beautifying the environment while helping it.
Session Fee: $30 Members/ $40 Guests

PAINTING FOR PLEASURE
Ages 12-18
Explore colors, painting techniques and alternatives. Using watercolors and acrylic paints, the artists will become more comfortable expressing themselves.

FAMILY CERAMICS
Ages 8+
An introduction to ceramic materials and processes. Students will learn how to make figurative sculptures, molds, work with the potter’s wheel, glazing techniques, and fire clay items.

PLEASANT PRESENT WORKSHOPS
Ages 13+
A class designed to revolutionize your wrapping experience. Giving gifts so beautiful the recipient won’t want to unwrap them. This class goes over detailed techniques and will be basic at its skill level.
