We had a fun time with a small group of diverse campers during Thanksgiving Break. Some of the highlights include:

- Cinnamon-scented Pinecone Turkey centerpieces

- Several campers tried ice skating for the first time and even let go of the wall!!

- Our Education Center garden has been completely revitalized with the love and care of our senior volunteers! The campers received a “tour” of the new vegetables and herbs… maybe Chef Ross will give us a taste of the crops during Winter Camp!

The days will be getting shorter, but for one day we get an extra hour. What will YOU do with your hour? Why not do something good for yourself or the community. Join me in a committment to give one hour of your time this Sunday to a cause. This could be as small as making a healthy personal choice or as big as volunteering for a local charity for an hour. Need suggestions:

- Play catch with your kids

- Walk the dog around Lake Murray

- Make a “real” breakfast with the kids

- Give your leftover Halloween candy to a rec. center- save yourself from the sweets!

- Plant some bulbs in the garden for the spring

- Read to a child

- Visit a retirement home and play games with someone (or just get to know them)

- Call a friend you haven’t heard from in years

It was great to see so many familiar faces, and to see those veteram campers welcome the new campers into our Day Camp Family. The children took home keepsakes from art, possibly new skills in a specialty sport, but more importantly some new friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

A NEW  Session of the Kroc Fit Challenge starts

Thursday, January 21st!

Experience an eight-week journey to improved health and wellness with the assistance of our expert personal training staff. Program consists of initial weigh-in & nutritionist presentation, two small group workouts per week for eight consecutive weeks, and final weigh-in event with prizes awarded in select categories. Join as an individual and be placed on a team with three others or find three friends and sign up as a team, then select your preferred timeslot. Space is very limited; reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Initial weigh-in event: Thursday, January 21st, 7:00 p.m.
Workouts begin: Monday, January 25th
Workouts end: Wednesday, March 17th
Final weigh-in event: Monday, March 22nd 7:00 p.m.
Fees: $149 / Members    $200 / Guests
