The Salvation Army Kroc Center’s Family Resource Center provides supportive services to individuals, families and seniors. Some assistance is based on predetermined guidelines and availability of services.

CASE MANAGEMENT:

Effective September 1st, 2011, all Family Resource Center (FRC) services are provided through supportive and strengths-based case management. Applicants for services will meet with FRC Associates for a comprehensive assessment to build upon strengths and assets and assist with meeting identified areas of need.

Walk-in hours for new clients to meet with a case manager are as follows:

Mondays: 10am - 11am, 2pm - 4:30pm

Tuesdays - Fridays: 9am - 11am, 2pm - 4:30pm

Membership and Program Scholarships:

Individuals, families, and seniors who require financial assistance for Kroc Center membership or fees for youth camps and/or group classes may apply for a discount. Discounts are based on a sliding scale, taking into consideration household size** and income. Eligibility for this program is based on address verification within the Kroc Center’s Service Area.*

Pick up an application packet at any Guest Service Desk, phone 619.269.1430 or e-mail to: sdkroc.frc@usw.salvationarmy.org for more information. Once your application is received, an FRC Associate will contact you to set up an appointment to discuss your scholarship.

Emergency Services:

Individuals, families, and seniors residing within the Kroc Center’s Service Area* that find themselves in emergency situations may request assistance in the form of:

· Food Boxes

· Clothing Vouchers and Children’s Pajamas

· Baby Items

· Household Items

· Bus Passes

· Personal Hygiene Items

· Domestic Phone Cards

Comprehensive Services:

The following FREE services are available to clients of the Family Resource Center.

· Food Stamp Pre-Screening & Application Assistance

· Developmental and Health Screenings Assistance

- Enrolling in SDG&E’s “Neighbor-to Neighbor Energy Assistance Program”

- Information and Referrals

Counseling Services:

Supportive Counseling services are offered by social workers within the Family Resource Center to individuals, couples, and families. Counselors consist of Associate Clinical Social Workers supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Master’s-level Social Work Interns from local Universities. Counseling services are limited in availability and may have a waitlist.

If you are in crisis and need to speak with someone immediately, please contact the Access and Crisis Hotline (24 Hours a day/7 Days a week) at 1-800-479-3339.  If you have a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 9-1-1.

Christmas Toy and Joy Program:

Each Christmas, The Salvation Army Kroc Center serves needy families within the Kroc Center’s Service Area*. Our mission is to spread the hope and joy of the season by providing food to families and new toys to children age 12 and under. An interest list begins in early October. Inquiries made prior to that time cannot be accepted.
