The Salvation Army Kroc Center’s Family Resource Center provides supportive services to individuals, families and seniors. Some assistance is based on predetermined guidelines and availability of services.

Christmas Toy and Joy Program:
Each Christmas, The Salvation Army Kroc Center serves needy families within the Kroc Center’s Service Area*. Our mission is to spread the hope and joy of the season by providing food to families and new toys to children age 12 and under. An interest list begins in early October. Inquiries made prior to that time cannot be accepted.

All applicants must provide the following documentation to receive any services including Christmas assistance:
Verification for all individuals in the household**
- Photo ID required for all adults in the home (State ID, driver’s license, passport, or military ID)
- Identification for all children in the home (birth certificate, Medi-Cal card, or immunization record)
- Current proof of income or lack of income for all individuals living in the household
- 2 current pay stubs (TANF/Calworks Notice of Action, child support, Social Security or unemployment benefits statement, educational class schedule and/or financial aid verification, etc.)
- Address verification (a recent utility bill such as SDGE, water, or cable/internet)
** A household is defined as ALL individuals residing within the home, including non-family members.
The following FREE classes are not limited to the Kroc Center’s Service Area and are available to the general public. Additional eligibility guidelines may apply.

Case Management
Effective September 1st, 2011, all Family Resource Center (FRC) services are provided through supportive and strengths-based case management. Applicants for services will meet with FRC Associates for a comprehensive assessment to build upon strengths and assets and assist with meeting identified areas of need.
Walk-in hours for new clients to meet with a case manager are as follows:
Mondays, Wednesdays - Fridays: 8:00am - 11:00am, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Tuesdays 9:30am - 12:00pm, 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Membership and Program Scholarships:
Individuals, families, and seniors who require financial assistance for Kroc Center membership or fees for youth camps and/or group classes may apply for a discount. Discounts are based on a sliding scale, taking into consideration household size** and income. Eligibility for this program is based on address verification within the Kroc Center’s Service Area.*

Emergency Services:
Individuals, families, and seniors residing within the Kroc Center’s Service Area* that find themselves in emergency situations may request assistance in the form of:
· Food Boxes
· Clothing Vouchers and Children’s Pajamas
· Baby Items
· Household Items
· Bus Passes
· Personal Hygiene Items
· Domestic Phone Cards
